Digital Girl, Inc. (DGI) is a non-profit organization founded in Brooklyn, New York. DGI is dedicated to empowering the underserved youth of New York City, especially young girls, to pursue studies and careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines. Although we service the New York City communities at large, we have initially narrowed our focus to the underserved community of Bedford Stuyvesant. Minorities, and particularly women of color, are underrepresented in STEM fields. Although numerous factors contribute to this underrepresentation, non-exposure to STEM disciplines during the early formulating years adds to this trend and DGI is committed to reversing it.
