About TWG
Dedicated to Bridging Gaps and Building Strong Partnerships Across New York City and New York State.

What Sets Us Apart

Since our inception, The Wright Group has been passionately engaging nonprofit organizations, dedicating over a decade and a half to building a powerful and supportive community across New York State. The firm was created under the premise that all nonprofit leaders representing the many diverse communities of New York State deserve to have a “seat at the table” with decision-makers in government. We understand the unique challenges faced by these organizations and provide tailored government relations strategies and comprehensive lobbying services to ensure their voices are heard by key decision-makers. Our commitment to fostering collaborative efforts and strategic guidance has empowered numerous nonprofits to amplify their reach and effectiveness.

Our History

Founded in 2010 by John Wright, The Wright Group NY (TWG) began as a beacon of advocacy and connection in the bustling state of New York. John, a trusted and deeply respected figure, was uniquely skilled at navigating the complex worlds of both nonprofit and government sectors. His firm belief was that leaders from the diverse nonprofit communities across New York State deserved a direct line to governmental decision-makers. John championed the idea that bringing these collective voices together in collaborative advocacy would lead to greater equity and transformative changes within the system. This principle of inclusive representation became the cornerstone of TWG’s mission, deeply ingrained in the fabric of New York’s social and political landscape.

Throughout the 2010s, TWG expanded its influence significantly, establishing a fully-staffed Statewide practice based in Albany. The firm played a pivotal role in significant legislative achievements, including the landmark “Raise The Age” initiative, which reformed how young people are treated in New York’s criminal justice system. TWG’s approach goes beyond representing individual clients; it actively involves orchestrating collaborative efforts among various coalitions. This strategy has not only broadened the scope of its impact but has firmly positioned TWG as a leader in advocating for systemic change and inclusivity, making it a vital player in shaping policies that serve the common man and the myriad nonprofit organizations that are the backbone of New York.

Following John’s passing in 2023, the core team at TWG has continued to uphold his legacy with the same dedication and integrity that marked the firm’s early days. Today, TWG’s client base is as diverse as the city itself, ranging from small grassroots organizations to some of New York City’s largest and most influential cultural institutions. Each client's mission addresses critical sectors impacting New Yorkers’ essential needs, from healthcare and education to arts and community development. TWG remains steadfast in its commitment to representing organizations that not only provide stability but also strengthen the social fabric of New York’s communities, driving toward a future where every voice is heard and every community is empowered.
